Every now and again we get some lovely message from somebody who we've inspired. Here is one from Chris a photographer who came and did our course last year and has started making rustic furniture. Checkout the pictures below.
" Hey, I don't suppose you will remember me, I came on a rustic furniture course about this time last year, my job was a photographer and I came hoping to learn a few tricks on how to make your funky stuff. Well I though I would drop you a quick e-mail just to say thanks you and SUCCESS. Soon after I returned home I was told about a Permaculture site in Burnley Lancashire near where I live called Offshoots (www.offshoots.org.uk) This place is all about sustainable and eco projects, I showed the manager a chair I had made with you. I couldn't believe my luck when he invited me to start making furniture onsite inside a yurt (which are also made there) Prince Charles came to see us and then we

Are you interested in building furniture in an ecological way...?
Do you want a change in lifestyle...?
We are looking for people to help continue our creative business.
We've been making furniture in this country since 2002. In this time we have learned a lot! Before that we were making furniture in South Africa for seven years. It's now time for some of us to go back to South Africa and back to making furniture in the sun.
Half of us will stay behind and continue the mission of making furniture in the style of the wild using recycled materials and innovative designs. We are looking to recruit new partners to continue what has proven to be a very successfull business.

If you're looking for eco garden furniture for outdoor use oak is your best option. In the garden or on the patio, it will last a lifetime. It is far better than teak which even if it is FSC certified will have come from Burma. That’s a long way from the UK. Here are some of the furniture we have made for outdoor use using only recycled wood and reclaimed timber from sustainable sources. Click to view more photos of our eco-friendly garden furniture

New Eco-Friendly Garden Furniture - Oak park bench
We've just created a new design of eco-friendly garden bench from recycled materials. This bench can be used as a outdoor garden bench as it has been made from solid oak which is extremely durable, hard wearing and above all eco-friendly. We are looking into making a similar storage bench when we get some more time. These two have been commissioned as anniversary benches to go into a commemorative garden.
Here are some photos and animations of these two wooden garden benches enjoy....
When Jamie Oliver commissioned us to make some bespoke rustic garden furniture for his home in Essex, we were over the moon. Why? Because we believe we share similar values with the popular naked chef. Jamie is famous for more than just his cooking: he challenges convention and he promotes a creative approach to food that combines traditional recipes with modern ethical awareness. Why have the 'same-old' when you can have something fresh and funky?
No nonsense, inventive and fun, Sylvantutch furniture is like your favourite classic recipe done Jamie style!
Here's the latest designs of furniture made from recycled wood and slate. Will add more photos soon.....
Ty builds his Executive Desk...
We have a friend and customer Ty who came to help us build him a seriously chunky rustic executive desk. For the worktop he chose two solid pieces of yew, (eight feet long and more than two inches thick), the tree had developed rot at its base and had to be felled. For the uprights we used reclaimed oak fence posts and for the panels we used a ombination of sycamore, cherry, ash, oak and chestnut.
The completed computer desk comes in four pieces, the two yew workstation surfaces and the two enclosed cabinets. Because of the weight of the yew, only gravity is needed to join the four pieces. Watch the progress below.....
We're really happy to anounce that we've won a local film awards for a film we made for our sisters wedding. So on Saturday the community of Machynlleth turned out in there finest outfits to watch what local talent had produced on film.
We've just been told that the video we made for our sisters wedding has been accepted and will be shown in this years Snowball Awards in Machynlleth.
Our sister Anne got married in Stellenbosch, South Africa, at the beggining of this year. Three of her four brothers were not able to be there, as we were thousands of miles away, in a small town called Corris.
The very least we could do was to make our sister a surprise video, which was shown at her wedding reception. She missed most of the film due to her tears...
Enjoy...
